Workshop for education through gamification

On the 25th of May 2022, we organized at Constanta at Maritime University, a workshop aiming at designing ideas for education through gamification with VET teachers and trainers. About 40 teaching staff and learners from 8 schools, 2 universities, 3 training centers and NGOs took part and actively participated in this innovative co-creation lab to design templates of gamified e-Learning programs.

Firstly, as organizers, we presented some of the online courses developed in the DIGCIT project for developing 10 Digital citizenship competences identified by Council of Europe as being the most needed for digital citizens. Secondly, participants were grouped in 5 teams and each team choose one topic from the following competencies areas of: Being online, Well-being online and Rights online. By this approach, we provided a starting point from which each team continued to expand.

Throughout the workshop, guided by the facilitator, the teams filled in all 8 parts of the game and proposed interactive educational solutions that can be used as supporting tools for teaching and evaluation.
