VET Wellbeing

The VET Well-being project responds to the growing mental health challenges faced by students in vocational education, where stress, anxiety and limited support systems particularly affect vulnerable groups such as migrant women. Recognising these barriers, the project aims to strengthen inclusion and improve learning outcomes by equipping VET educators with practical tools to support emotional well-being. Through the development of a digital Well-being Toolbox – integrating methods such as art therapy, music therapy, movement exercises and relaxation techniques – the project provides accessible strategies for creating supportive learning environments.

Well-being Toolbox for VET
This outcome delivers a practical set of tools to help VET professionals support the emotional well-being of their learners, especially migrant women. The Toolbox includes evidence-based methods such as art therapy, music therapy, movement exercises and relaxation techniques. Designed to be easy to implement, it provides step-by-step guidance, best practices and case studies that enable VET providers to embed well-being strategies into everyday teaching and programme management.
Training Programme for VET Educators
This programme strengthens the capacity of VET educators to create inclusive and psychologically supportive learning environments. It focuses on developing their skills in recognising stress factors, applying well-being practices and supporting migrant women facing multiple barriers. Through structured training sessions delivered across Sweden, Romania and Italy, the programme equips 60 VET professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to reduce stress, improve retention and enhance the learning experience for vulnerable learners.
e-Platform for Mental Health Support
This inclusive digital platform ensures long-term, open access to all Toolbox resources, training modules and support materials. It includes video tutorials, interactive exercises, downloadable guides and a space for educators to exchange experiences. Designed as a central hub for well-being in VET, the platform enhances accessibility, scalability and sustainability, enabling institutions across Europe to integrate mental health support into vocational education more effectively.

OBJECTIVES AND TARGET GROUPS
The objectives of the VET Wellbeing project are:
- Place well-being at the heart of VET learning: Promote the integration of emotional-health and well-being into vocational education and training so that mental health is regarded as a fundamental foundation for learning, inclusion and lifelong development.
- Develop a practical Well-being Toolbox: A freely accessible, evidence-based Toolbox of methods and resources to help VET professionals integrate mental-health-supporting activities into everyday programmes.
- Target support to vulnerable groups: Design tools, training and communication materials that address the specific psychological, social and cultural barriers faced by migrant women in VET, amplifying their voices, strengthening resilience and improving their access to inclusive, supportive learning environments.
- Strengthen capacity of VET staff and institutions: Upskill educators, programme directors and VET managers to apply wellbeing practices, facilitate institutional adoption, and put in place measures for long-term sustainability of the project.
The target groups of the VET Wellbeing project are:
- VET Educators and Programme Directors: Trainers, tutors and programme managers in vocational education who are trained and supported to integrate the Well-being Toolbox and well-being practices into everyday teaching and programme management.
- Migrant Women in VET Programmes: Female migrants enrolled in VET who face cultural, linguistic and psychosocial barriers; they are primary beneficiaries who receive targeted tools and activities to strengthen resilience, inclusion and learning outcomes.
- VET Institutions, NGOs and Policy Stakeholders: Institutional leaders, VET networks, NGOs and organisations working with migrants and mental health who adopt, scale and embed the Toolbox into institutional practice, policy and local support services.
